Falling in Love Again - Deutschland
For one night only at the Paramount Theatre, experience Seattle Men’s Chorus (SMC) in Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s original commission, For a Look or a Touch, a powerful story about the relatively untouched and unknown subject of gay persecution during the Holocaust. This moving opera, originally performed by SMC in 2011, will launch the group’s tour through Germany. This tragic but true love story chronicles the impact the war had on Gad Beck (actor Kip Niven) and Manfred Lewin (operatic baritone Morgan Smith). The show will once again be staged by Intiman Theatre’s Producing Artistic Director, Andrew Russell.
We round out the show in Act II with a few selections of American Jazz and other music of celebration to help put you in the spirit of Pride. You’ll hear pieces like Gershwin’s “Little Jazz Bird,” “You Are Worthy” from the web series The Hinterlands, and a couple snippets of what you’ll experience during our 2014-2015 season.
Don’t miss your chance to experience an entirely new presentation of this gripping production!
