The start of each new season always fills me with excitement and anticipation, and our 2014-2015 season is certainly no exception! As Seattle Women’s Chorus (SWC) celebrates 12 years of beautiful music, we continue striving with every concert to raise the bar, stretch our range, and keep you on your toes.
We will kick things off this fall with a return to Saint Mark’s Cathedral for our third consecutive year. I’m thrilled to continue (what I hope will be) a tradition of bringing you Halloween-inspired concerts each October that incorporate some of the season’s colors. moods, and sounds. This year, in Hallows in the Cathedral: Moonshadow, you’ll enjoy a variety of music from choral art pieces to beloved pop numbers, many of which play off of our moon theme, in all its dark, subtle beauty. You’ll love the way the vibrant voices of SWC come to life in the grand space of the Cathedral in this mysterious and haunting production.
Then in February we return to our new home at the Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center. Reel Women pays tribute to some of the most admired and dazzling women of the silver screen. Performing selections from countless classic and treasured films, this concert celebrates the illustrious leading ladies who brought your favorite characters to life, and the unseen women behind the cameras. SWC truly shines in this show dedicated to beautiful, talented women, as they take you on a journey through decades of beloved motion pictures.
Exciting new seasons like this are made possible through your kindness and support. Thank you for helping us work toward our vision of a world that accepts and values all of its citizens. We simply couldn’t do it without you.
